Richard Thorogate

Richard Thorogate is an Instrument Support Manager at the London Centre for Nanotechnology where he manages the atomic force microscopy, confocal and magnetometry facilities. He has a varied background and initially trained as a cell biologist working on signal transduction and protein translocation through the nuclear pore complex. Since his PhD, he has worked in the fields of analytical chemistry and forensics before joining the LCN in 2008.

  •  2008 – present, Instrument Support Manager for the AFM, confocal and magnetometry facilities, London Centre for Nanotechnology, University College London.
  • 2006 – 2008, Postdoctoral Research Assistant, Dept. of Forensic Sciences and Drug Monitoring, King’s College London, Laboratory of Dr Sue Jickells and Dr Barbara Daniel.
