Building a nano-scale filter using DNA

19/2/2018

The collaborative study with researchers at the Yale School of Medicine was recently published in ACS Nano and details how DNA can be folded using ‘DNA origami’ to form a nanometer-sized cylinder. This cylinder can then be filled by the proteins that in our body selectively transport material into and out of the nuclei of our cells, resulting in a ‘nano-pore’ filter. Read more here.

Congratulations Hasan for passing his viva!

2/2/2018

The focus of Hasan's work was to use peptides as molecular building blocks for the assembly of synthetic virus capsules which he was able to image in action on biological membranes.
